Buying a membership card in a gym is a useful way to get motivated. Once your membership is paid, you feel obliged to go to the gym regularly and spend some time there at least once a week. But have you thought about winter time, when coldness and tiredness will tear your new motivation into confetti? You’ll be glad to know that you can launch your own-fitness program even on a low budget. It’s not that difficult, it just requires motivation, good organization and preparation.

The first mistake you can make when you practice at home deals with your safety but also your family’s one. First when you are on your own with your program and your brand new equipment, you take the risk to jeopardize your health. You must first learn how to use your equipment. If you don’t, so you take the risk to seriously harm your body and then suffer from temporary or permanent injuries. So take the time to perfectly master your equipment and understand how your body reacts to efforts, unusual movements and physical stress. Home gym and fitness equipment have stressful effects on our body so it’s worth taking a moment to think about your safety and your health when you’re committing into a serious exercise program. In a gym you also pay for the knowledge and the overseeing of a teacher who knows how to avoid injuries, but at home when you’re completely on your own. By knowing how to effectively use your equipment and do the fitness exercises you also learn to take the best from it. You’ll be able to practice less without losing any benefits for your body. If you don’t know what you’re doing you will lose precious time and have to make more efforts for fewer results. Moreover it’s not just a matter of personal safety because your equipment or your movements can cause injuries to your surroundings. Especially if you have a baby, young kids or animals, it’s important to practice in a safe room, separated from the rest of the house. Every good machine has a lock device to block the system, so remember to set the lock after each fitness session.
Identify budget, exercise goals and equipment
You can launch a home-fitness program without any costly equipment like treadmills, elliptical trainers or rowers. For that you just need what nature offered you, your body, and get some help with a fitness video and a simple rug to do the exercises on the floor. Free some space in your living room and start your fitness, at least twice a week in you want to have good results. However, you may have specific goals like focusing on cardio exercises, losing weight in specific areas of your body or develop muscles. For these specific goals, you need to elaborate a precise budget for your equipment. Professional machines can allow you to perform better and achieve specific goals more quickly. The best solution is to test some machines and make your own opinion. For that maybe paying a gym membership for 2 or 3 months is really a good idea in order to become more familiar with gym equipment, fitness methods and some crucial safety advises that your teachers may give you during your courses. Then draft a budget, invest in good second hand equipment and start your own program with 2 or 3 weekly sessions. And when weather will be sweeter, don’t forget to jog time to time: your lungs need to breath outside air and your skin to feed with sunshine!
