What should you do this summer in Montreal?

Amongst the main touristic destinations that an international traveler would love to visit, Canada might not be the first name to appear on the list. It is, however, a very welcoming country with many different activities to participate in! During summer, particularly, many festivals and special events happen and bring a lot of visitors into the country. Montreal is definitely one of the main attractions of Canada and this summer will be no different! People that follow the F1 tour will definitely not want to miss this particular moment. During one weekend, from June 7th to June 9th, the city will be invaded by racing fans and the international jet set. Many nightclubs will hold special parties, for example. Many companies actually offer F1 Montreal packages for you to fully benefit from the Grand Prix. You’ll have access to the paddocks, you’ll get unlimited champagne and great meals, you’ll have activities planned and you’ll have the best possibly view over the race. This race is definitely a classic: it was created in 1967 and it has been taking place on Île Notre-Dame since 1978.

Many festivals to see

People who love cultural festivals will definitely be glad to be in Montreal.

For French-speaking people, the Festival Juste Pour Rire is a classical moment to have a good laugh and witness Canada’s best standup comics. It usually takes place in July and lasts for 3 weeks. Different kind of activities take place during Juste Pour Rire: there will be regular shows in big theaters, street acting, short movies’ projections and much more.

English speakers will still have much to do in Montreal, don’t worry! The Montreal Jazz Fest, for example, is the most famous event in the world for jazz aficionados. Usually, you can see more than 3000 artists play during the festival in more than 650 different concerts, most of them being free outdoor concerts. At least 20 different venues are used to present all the different artists for the duration of the festival, which will happen in 2013 from June 28th to July 7th. The Festival was launched in 1980 and is still extremely popular, bringing close to 1 million tourists.

Visit landmarks!

Of course, a trip in Montreal will not be complete before seeing the most interesting landmarks the city has to offer. For example, taking a walk in the Old Montreal will make you enjoy the charm of the 17th century. You do not want to miss Point Calliere Museam and the Notre Dame Basilica!

Hikers could enjoy going on top of Mont-Royal in order to enjoy the breathtaking view it has to offer. It is also possible to climb this mountain by bike or by taking a bus, if you prefer the easy way.

Finally, you kids could enjoy going to the Biodome to see all the different kinds of ecosystems and type of animals that this very big Canada has to offer.
