Tired of using shampoos packed with chemicals? We got you covered.
It is no secret, most of the shampoos, conditioners and oils we can find on the market are conceived with a lot of chemical components which put at risk our hair and scalp – as well as our health in general. One of these ingredients is paraben, a sort of preservatives which can initiate allergic reactions. The use of latex and aluminum in some shampoo and other hair care products can also accelerate the hair loss process.
Fortunately, alternatives exist. Some natural recipes have been used for centuries to treat skin and hair. Beer and egg shampoos-conditioners are good examples. We present you some of these alternatives that you can either buy from specific brands or make yourself at home.
1-The famous beer shampoo
Raw beer has been used as an anti-septic treatment for centuries, it is well known of its numerous benefits. It is also good for hair since it can cleanse your scalp and make your hair shinier, and is especially interesting to treat dry or greasy hair. More precisely, malt and hops are full of protein and vitamin B, this is what makes beer such an interesting ingredient.
Beer shampoo is especially interesting to fight the effects of cold or hot weather – that’s why it is so interesting in Canada.
Many brands sell beer shampoos. Among them, we can cite Lush and Hair-Recipes.
What’s magical with this kind of shampoo, and the other products we present to you here, is that you can make your own recipes – DIY style. You can, for instance, use beer and honey to fortify your hair.
2-Egg conditioner and shampoo
With beer, egg is a classic when it comes to hair care. Like the first ingredient, eggs are full of vitamins and proteins, they’re thus perfect to fortify your hair.
Some people simply mix a few eggs, with some honey, lemon and other components and apply the recipe as a mask on their hair. Although, all depends on the type of hair you have and your goal. For dry hair, for instance, you can add to the mix olive oil as it is a powerful agent to fortify your hair.
If you are not into DIY – or if you simply don’t have time for that -, simply buy a shampoo or other hair care produces provided by an expert in hair care. Many manufacturers offer such recipes.
